Immortality

Love's the Holy Grail

Tomorrow

Tomorrow

The unutterable sound

The unspeakable truth

The treasure you found

Eternity of youth

Hard on its heels

In their myriad forms

The golden bell peals

As they come to adorn

In raiments of gold

The gods from above

Your joy will unfold

As they fill you with love

But hark can you hear

A voice from within

Above and beyond

E'en those who come near

For this is the voice

The voice without sound

No freedom of choice

Your lust gagged and bound

And things long forgotten

Things from the past

The ripe and the rotten

None of them last

For now you are summoned

By something so great

That even when murmured

Echoes reverberate

The mildew is soured

The pond life is scum

All is devoured

In the beat of a drum

Iniquities burn

Impurities drown

Time is to learn

Mortality's frown

And hark once again

For all this will change

In enlightenment's wake

The nod of the sage

And yes you will drown

And yes you will burn

But not in that pond

The pages have turned

The water will cleanse you

The fire will light

Your own true becoming

Escape from that night

Of decay and disaster

Of failure and scorn

All gone with tomorrow

The day you are born.
