NEW: The Path that led me to Cosmic Consciousness

“You do know, don’t you, that it’s your destiny to become a teacher?”

These words were spoken to me by Dr George King in 1975 when he initiated me, at the age of 22, as an Initiate of the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth, sometimes referred to as the Great White Brotherhood, which is comprised of male and female ascended masters of different races.

Because of my faith in this Avatar as the great Master of Yoga he was I replied, “Yes sir.”. It was only later that I started to ponder what it really meant.

Over the decades since, following the path he taught through The Aetherius Society every day of my life, that meaning has become clear.

I was very fortunate not only to be Dr King’s disciple and colleague, but also to become a very close friend. We spoke almost every day by phone or in person and, on the whole, I tried not to take advantage of this by seeking knowledge from him for my own benefit. I felt we should be talking about things that mattered to him and especially to the world as a whole, which was his main focus.

But one day in 1986, as we sat in a beautiful location not far from Lake Powell in the USA, I broke my self-imposed rule and asked him a question which I needed an answer to.

“Would it be possible for me,” I ventured, “to become an adept in this life?”

I had decided to strive for this goal but there was no point in doing so if it was not attainable, and I certainly did not wish to be deluded as happens, too often, to spiritual seekers.

“I’m sorry, boy, but you could not join the Six Adepts.” He said with genuine compassion in his voice. This was a reference to an elite group of cosmic intelligences, one of whom is none other than the greatest Master on Earth, the Lord Babaji.

“Oh no, Master,” I quickly reassured him, “of course I could not join the Six Adepts, such a thought would not cross my mind. I only mean an ordinary, unascended terrestrial adept.”

I could sense his relief as he looked closely at me and said, “Oh, yes, you could definitely do that, but there are two things you would have to do.” He then told me what those two things were.

Greatly encouraged I continued on the path he laid down in The Aetherius Society, without any break, and for a number of years I have practised the two things he told me to do.

It took me a long time to get there – probably longer than it should have done – but three years ago, at the age of 69, I had my first samadhic experience. I was able to raise the wonderful power of kundalini to the Christ Centre, or Third Eye, and become one with my higher self.

Later that year, in a peaceful setting in Tenerife, I managed to raise this sacred force further to the Crown Centre, or Brahma Chakra, and enter the glorious state of cosmic consciousness.

Two years later, in Tenerife, this beautiful state engulfed me once more but this time it was fuller, more blissful and imbued with greater love.

But I knew that I had not fully arrived, that I had not raised kundalini in its entirety during these experiences.

My bible and favourite book in the world is The Nine Freedoms. It is based on a series of transmissions delivered by the cosmic intelligence, Mars Sector 6, in 1961 through the mediumship of Dr George King.

It contains brilliant commentaries by Dr King, as the realised master he was, who had experienced elevated states including cosmic consciousness when he was only in his thirties. But it is the text delivered by Mars Sector 6 that I constantly refer to as a roadmap – virtually a technical manual for my personal development.

Thanks to the path I have been privileged to follow, I have been able to demonstrate the first five of these Freedoms – Bravery, Love, Service, Enlightenment and Cosmic Consciousness – though I still have a very long way to go to master them.

In certain Eastern writings, cosmic consciousness is called Nirvana. In some of them this state seems to be presented as the final amalgamation of the individual with the divine essence from which we came.

The Nine Freedoms makes it clear that this is not the case – as I for one can verify. There is a massive gulf between cosmic consciousness and our next step on the path, the Sixth Freedom – Ascension – a gulf which takes lives of karmic experience to cross.

I was aware of this, but I made the mistake of thinking that the difference between the level of cosmic consciousness I had experienced in Tenerife, and its ultimate state which leads to ascension, was an incomplete rise of kundalini. That raising this mystic force in its entirety, which I was sure I had not done yet, would signify a complete mastery of all terrestrial experience and a readiness to leave the wheel of rebirth through the initiation of ascension.

Perhaps this belief was a result of teachings I had followed in former lives, but I was wrong as I found out this year in another of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura. There I determined to see whether or not I could indeed raise kundalini fully.

When I got there, I was helped greatly by an enlightened being from a higher sphere who spelt out in a telepathic communication what I would need to do, in technical terms, to achieve this. In the very conducive setting of a quiet hotel balcony by the sea in the early hours of the morning, I followed these guidelines to the letter and for one or two minutes I was able to raise kundalini in its entirety to the Crown Centre.

But time as we know it does not exist in that state because, as the Master Aetherius so brilliantly puts it in Dr King’s book, You Are Responsible!, by sensitising yourself to the highest aspects of planetary mind experience can be compressed. He explained that spiritual exercises can lead to experiences which would otherwise require us to live for thousands of years to gain the same evolutionary advancement.    

I understood the statement made by Dr King in the books, Contact Your Higher Self Through Yoga and Realize Your Inner Potential, about a particular practice which, if done correctly, enables you to progress a thousand years every time you do it.

For less than five minutes I entered timelessness, and the multidimensional levels of space, where suns, planets and a multitude of intelligent lifeforms are at one with the great Laws of Creation which determine evolution.

How different is it here on Earth where there is ignorant and completely futile resistance to determinations made solely for our benefit by the Supreme Lords of Karma.

I realised that creation is not so much a choice made by God, as it is sometimes depicted, but an absolute necessity. And here words fail me because, as Lao Tse put it, “the way which can be spoken is not the true way”.

After this experience I turned, as I always do, to my technical manual, The Nine Freedoms, for confirmation. Sure enough, the Sixth Freedom makes it clear that even after fully attaining cosmic consciousness, lives ensue before total experience has been gained.  

So it was not the fact that kundalini had not been raised in its entirety to the Crown Centre, but the fact that even when it is, there is still much to learn. Mars Sector 6 revealed that in many who are regarded as masters on Earth, kundalini is still warm in certain chakras, which requires them to gain further karmic experience before the ultimate state is attained and ascension is achieved.

What a wonderful guideline, coming from so inviolable a source! It told me exactly what I needed to learn and it made perfect sense to me as someone who is far from being a master.

In 1967, the Master Aetherius gave a wonderful promise to those who dedicate themselves to the task given to us by the cosmic masters when he said:

Whether this task succeeds or fails is up to you. If it does fail, then you fail mankind and your Karmic Gods. If it does succeed, then quickly, ladies and gentlemen, not easily but quickly, will you be able to don the crowns of Adeptship – and even more resplendent crowns than that.

I have no doubt that I would not have reached the stage I have, albeit with much further to go, had it not been for the path established by Dr George King through The Aetherius Society. Maybe that is what he saw over fifty years ago at the initiation ceremony, when he first revealed my destiny to me.
