Before channelling, as a psychic medium, any of the writings posted on this website, I practised a combination of spiritual practices, psychic development and Karma Yoga - much of it under the direction of a master of yoga - for an average of over eight hours a day for at least 30 years.
Background
It’s all too easy to claim to be a medium and many people do around the world, whether they be genuine, fake, or just plain deluded. Of course, their past live experience, advancement and innate psychic abilities are an absolutely crucial factor. But even if they are born with these, they will still need to train and hone them in this life.
So that’s why I believe it is essential for anyone who makes such a claim to at least provide their credentials. They should state what training they have had and who from; the type of practices they have performed to prepare them and for how long; the number of years they have practised channelling and how it evolved; the specific abilities and techniques they use to do so. If they cannot do this, I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole as we say in England.
Of course, people can still make their own judgements about the credentials provided and whether they believe them, but at least this would be one yardstick by which to judge this, the other one being the calibre, content, and credibility of the messages they receive.
By far the most impressive credentials I have ever come across from a medium are those of Dr George King’s. Who else practised the most advanced form of yoga – crucially including Kundalini Yoga – to prepare him for his mediumship for cosmic intelligences. No other medium I know of has described in such detail and exactitude their methodology, which included entering the exalted state of Samadhi.
Dr King was a samadhic trance medium which placed him, to the best of my knowledge, in a completely unique category. All the other mediums I have come across have used, in different degrees of advancement and accuracy, telepathy, clairaudience and clairvoyance.
My considered opinion is that all trance mediums who are not capable of samadhi are unreliable, at least in their accuracy. Since the only trance medium, I know of who has used samadhi is Dr George King, all the others are partially reliable at best. I know this is controversial, but sadly I believe it needs to be said.
A medium might claim to have entered Samadhi unknowingly, but one thing about this state is that when you enter it you know it.
Madame Blavatsky did detail some of her preparation for her task, which included being trained personally by Mahatmas in the Himalayas. She also revealed some of the essential mystic experiences she had gained in her travels across the world. As far as I know, she did not spell out her exact methodology clearly as did Dr King, but she did attribute any channelling she did to telepathy, clairaudience, and clairvoyance, and gave some idea of certain techniques.
I don’t believe there is any other leading theosophist with a comparable track record to Madame Blavatsky either before or after they claimed to channel, and the vast array of claimants emerged in the wake of theosophy so seminal was its importance.
My credentials
I describe myself as a psychic medium and as such I use a combination of telepathy, clairaudience, and clairvoyance.
This is way below the samadhic trance mediumship of Dr King in both advancement and accuracy. On that note I would like to make it clear that while Members of The Aetherius Society accept the communications received by Dr King, there is no requirement for them to accept or even investigate the channelling I do. The most important aspect of my preparation was as a disciple of Dr King who was a true Master of Yoga, and who honoured me with a number of high initiations. He became aware of my psychic abilities when I was in my 20s and encouraged me to become a psychic consultant with points of guidance and even by designing the cover for the crystal ball I used, which he gave me.
When I made mistakes early in my development, which I did, he put me straight, encouraged me to continue and even received a personal reading from me himself. I kept him informed of my progress in terms of channelling, especially in the earlier years.
I have practised Karma Yoga for over 40 years, much of it under the direct supervision of Dr King – for the last 20 years of his life we spoke nearly every day. In addition to this, I performed spiritual practices during this period every day including prayer, mantra and breathing exercises with advanced kundalini visualisations. The combination of Karma Yoga and spiritual practices, if done diligently, provides a bedrock of intensive concentration to any psychic development which occurs.
As well as this, and even though it was not a requirement of being a disciple of Dr King – in fact hardly any of his closest students chose to take this course for understandable reasons – I pursued intensively my own psychic development which had started in my early 20s until the present day. I have now channelled for over 40 years.
The information I received is dictated to me in a contemplative state during which I am entirely focused on the words I am being given by an outside source and to the utmost of my ability detached from my own thinking process. On occasions the letters of the words are individual and very quickly received and I do not consider the words they construct, never mind their meaning, and certainly not what I might think or feel about it.
Because of one or two mistakes I made in my early development I am ever vigilant and constantly aware of the procedure at an intuitive level – my intuition being completely separate to the outside source of my communication. I follow my internal guidance at all times, something I failed to do when I started.
As well as a telepathic communication of words I usually receive a clairaudient sound of the message. This is psychic, not physical, but very distinct, sometimes more distinct than a physical voice would be in certain respect. This is very useful, in fact in the early stages, it is a vital way of determining with absolute certainty that these communications come from an outside source.
On some occasions, I will also get a clairvoyant impression of the person which can carry a more definite energetic expression than a physical appearance. This too is a way of gaining certainty about the external source and the character of the communicator.
I do believe the Karma Yoga that I practised under the direction of a living Master, and the powerful spiritual practices I have performed regularly, were crucial to the high degree of accuracy I am now able to obtain in my channelling through intensive concentration.
In addition to this though it was essential for me to pursue my psychic development rigorously with thousands of hours of practice over the years. Without this I would not be able to channel the advanced people from higher realms who honour me with their communications, often I believe, in deference to the Master who encouraged me so much from the moment he became aware of my psychic potential.
